No! Dougal only alter the html that is held within a browser variable on the client machine. Dougal only alters this html when the user has requested such action.
The Dougal Demo takes things further. For the AutoThink demo to work Dougal needs to alter all the links on a page. By entering an URL in the search box our users have requested this change so it must be a good thing.
Yes! We alter the web authors original content whenever a user of our toolbar uses the AutoThink button. However, because we do this client side we can pretend we are not.
In fact all web pages are transferred client side for the user to view them, so in theory once the content reaches the user machine Dougal can do anything we like.
Our next plan is to replace OverKill ads and other 3rd party ads with our own. Dougal will call this new feature AutoSense. The great thing is Dougal can say our users want this, after all they clicked on the AutoSense button - and only greedy anti-user webmasters will complain.
